Prenatal to the Cradle
Yoga & Doula Services for Prenatal, Birth, and Beyond
The journey of motherhood begins with the miraculous reason to be the woman you were always meant to be.
Alexis Martin ERYT is known for her devotional teaching style, encouraging students to connect with their spiritual hearts finding their inner truth and self. She views the knowledge within the Yoga Sutras as an important key for us all to truly live our practice. Alexis enjoys weaving this information into her classes. Her teaching style is born from her studies and from her own practice and experience. She is a "student of life" that begins with her own persistent self-study.
She gives information, and adjustments so that students form a foundation based in impeccability of alignment. This ensures that people learn to move their bodies in an integrated and intelligent way. She has a warm and compassionate style.
Based in Ormond Beach, Florida, she has taught over 3,000 hours of yoga and is a Certified 200ERYT & 500RYT Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. Alexis offers Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Classes, Women's Intuition Series, Journey through Breathe and Sound, Detox classes, Yoga Asana (posture) clinics, and Advanced Yoga Anatomy.
More recently, Alexis discovered her calling to work with women throughout their birthing journey while pregnant with her own daughter, Emerson, born in September 2009. While experiencing her own birth story, she devoured everything possible on the subjects of pregnancy, birth, and mothering to ensure her own powerful birth experience. It was this experience that opened her eyes to a deeper understanding of wordless compassion, selfless service, and that yoga can be a part of every woman’s life no matter where her path may lead. She received her Pre-natal Training Certification from Pre-Natal Plus Yoga in
Alexis continues her education beyond the realms of her BMOF in Piano Performance & Pre-med and has received her Reiki I and II healing certification. Last year she received her 615 hrs. CYT from Altamonte Springs Yoga and completed a Yoga Teaching Certification with Bryan Kest. She attributes her teaching and encouraging style to that of her mentors such as Seane Corn, Desiree Rumbaugh, Krishna Das, Anodea Judith, and Marianne Williamson. Most importantly, she believes that yoga is a journey that allows all of us to live and practice our yoga on and off our mat daily so that we may be the change we wish to see in the world.
